Deadline and Radio Times: Walton Goggins Wraps Fallout Season 3
Walton Goggins has finished filming his part in Season 3 of Prime Video's Fallout. Deadline reported on October 29 that the Golden Globe nominee shared the news on Wednesday with a video of himself driving through the desert in a convertible with the top down.
Radio Times followed on October 30, describing it as a major production update for the Prime Video series.
A Post From the Desert
Goggins plays Cooper Howard, the irradiated bounty hunter known as the Ghoul. His caption, as quoted by both outlets, read: "Just took it off for the last time.. Season 3. Gatdamn this felt good. I wish this road or this song would never end. Gonna miss you California… til the next time. #Fallout"
Deadline noted that while Goggins has wrapped his work, the show is still completing production in California. Radio Times described the season as wrapped. The careful version is that Goggins is done, and the series is close behind.
The Line That Got Fans Talking
The phrase "for the last time" set off a wave of questions. Deadline said some fans wondered whether Goggins meant he had taken off the Ghoul's prosthetics for the last time ever. Radio Times said it is unclear what he meant. Esquire ran a piece asking whether he is leaving the show.
Here is what the record supports. Prime Video gave Fallout an early Season 3 renewal in May 2025, ahead of the Season 2 premiere last December, according to Deadline. The series has not been officially renewed or canceled beyond Season 3. Goggins himself ended the post with "til the next time," which reads at least as much like a goodbye to a long shoot as a goodbye to the role.
Anything firmer than that is speculation until Prime Video or Goggins says more. Neither Prime Video nor the actor's representatives issued a statement on the post in the coverage cited here.
Who Else Is in the Wasteland
Deadline reported that Goggins reunites in Season 3 with Ella Purnell, Aaron Moten, Kyle MacLachlan, Moisés Arias and Frances Turner. New cast members include Aaron Paul, Manny Jacinto, Emily Mortimer and Thomasin McKenzie. Radio Times said details of the newcomers' roles have not yet been confirmed.
Based on the popular video game series, Fallout follows the residents of luxury fallout shelters who return, 200 years after the apocalypse, to the wasteland their ancestors escaped. Purnell plays vault dweller Lucy and Moten plays soldier Maximus.
Why a Wrap Post Becomes News
Wrap posts are small events, but they do real work for a show. They tell audiences that a new season exists in finished footage, they keep a series in conversation between seasons, and they give entertainment desks a verified update in a period when studios share very little. When the star is as central as Goggins is to Fallout, even a short caption gets read closely.
Goggins is one of the show's most recognizable faces, which is why any wording that sounds like an ending draws attention. That attention is understandable. It is not the same thing as news of an exit.
It is also worth remembering how heavy the role is to wear. The Ghoul is a prosthetics role, as the fan discussion Deadline described makes clear. Read that way, a line about taking it off for the last time this season is a natural thing to post at the end of a long shoot.
What Comes Next for Goggins
With Fallout behind him for now, Goggins is moving on to Miami Vice '85 from Universal, where he joins a cast that includes Michael B. Jordan and Austin Butler, Deadline reported.
No premiere date for Fallout Season 3 was included in the coverage. For fans, the confirmed takeaway is simple: the Ghoul's next chapter is filmed, the rest of the season is finishing up, and the question of what comes after it is still open.
