Sean Combs' projected release date moved again. TMZ, citing the Bureau of Prisons, reported he is now lined up to leave FCI Fort Dix in New Jersey on February 5, 2028. The date has bounced through 2028 for months: summer, then June, April, February, January, and back toward early February after a fight inside pushed it the other way.

Combs was sentenced in October 2025 by Judge Arun Subramanian to 50 months after convictions on two prostitution-related counts. Lawyers have already asked a higher court to call the term excessive. Rehab programming behind bars is one explanation people float for earlier bumps. The fight and solitary time is the explanation for at least one delay.

Why the date keeps moving

Federal time is not a press release. Good-time math, program credits, and disciplinary reports all write to the same public page. When that page changes, outlets treat it as news because Combs is still a catalog and headline business. The page is not a pardon.

February 2028 is still more than a year away. Anyone talking about studio schedules should use that calendar, not wishful math from fans.

What this is not

This recap is not a relitigation of the trial evidence. It is a records story: the BOP list, the sentence length, and the fact that the date is unstable. Civil cases and other investigations sit on separate tracks.

If the BOP page moves next week, the only honest update is the new date.
