In this thought-provoking episode of The Joseph Bonner Show, Joseph has an inspiring sit down with Verdell Osborne—a speaker, author, and life coach—to explore how storytelling can transform lives and inspire future generations.

Verdell's journey into authorship began when she contributed to the award-winning anthology Centering Our Voices, which celebrates Black women educators. This pivotal experience gave her the courage to share her own story and embrace the power of speaking up and inspiring others. But her passion for uplifting students and communities runs even deeper—rooted in the legacy of her grandmother, Arlana Clemens, who led the Margaret Barnes Civic Group to fund scholarships for college students in Sandusky, Ohio. The civic group’s namesake, Margaret C. Barnes, was later recognized in the acclaimed film The Six Triple Eight, honoring the women of the 6888th Central Postal Directory Battalion.

Verdell’s dedication to education and empowerment led her to Texas Woman’s University, where she had a defining moment—realizing that the next generation needed to hear her voice. She shares how obstacles and setbacks are inevitable, but the key to success lies in taking just one step forward each day. Through learning, teaching, and encouraging others, she hopes to leave behind a legacy of purpose: one that reminds young dreamers that life is waiting, and they should never stop dreaming.

Tune in for a conversation filled with wisdom, resilience, and inspiration as Verdell Osborne shares her journey and mission to uplift others through storytelling and mentorship.
