Administration Plans to Remove 760,000 ACA Exchange Enrollees Citing Fraud

Vice President JD Vance and White House officials said Tuesday they intend to remove about 760,000 enrollments from public Affordable Care Act exchanges, alleging fraudulent or nonexistent accounts.

Officials estimated the move could save about $2.2 billion and said new brokers would be barred from signing up enrollees for six months while reviews continue.

Health insurers and state exchange administrators are expected to ask how affected households can appeal. Independent confirmation of the enrollment figures was not immediately available from every state marketplace.
